The Dark Divine

The Dark Divine - Bree Despain I loved the slow suspense of The Dark Divine. The best part of the suspense was that I had no idea who or what Daniel was for most of the book. The portrayal of the fight between good and evil was great, but for most of the book I felt like it was a typical paranormal book. The ending was interesting and different and it was great learning more about the unique mythology. The writing was a little confusing and I found myself re-reading a lot to figure out what was going on. There were some great religious allusions all throughout. I especially liked the allusion to the story of the prodigal son. The characters were likable and real, although sometimes I didn’t understand or agree with Grace’s thought processes. Overall it was a good read mostly because I loved the ending and the great mythology. I’m curious as to what happens next. This book is also reviewed on my blog Books: A true story
